Rocksmith is a music game that allows you to play with a real guitar (either electroacoustic or electric). It was created by a French company Ubisoft.
One of the goals that Ubisoft company set for themselves while developing Rocksmith, was to create a brand that would fit into the concept of "games with benefits", i.e. a game that would not only provide players with entertainment, but also stimulate their skills, in this case, the ability to play the guitar. Therefore, Rocksmith disc contains not only standard game modes but also guides and tutorials that aim to teach novice players basic chords and help the old stagers to polish their technique.
