The HyperX Cloud III S is designed for those who want the convenience of wireless gaming. There are 2 ways to connect the headset: via low-latency 2.4GHz USB or via Bluetooth , and switching between them is as easy as pressing a small switch on the headset. This allows you to go from gaming on your PC to listening on your phone without feeling tied to one device.
Comfort is one of the strongest features of this product. The memory foam padding is soft, the faux leather fits perfectly around your ears, and the aluminum frame adjusts without any stiffness. Even during long sessions, the headphones remain comfortable and don't press too hard. Removable outer ear cups add a bit of individuality while maintaining a clean design.
The sound quality is tuned for clarity, especially in competitive games where you want to hear footsteps and directional cues clearly. The 53mm drivers are more focused on mids and highs than deep bass, which is great for accuracy but not ideal if you want powerful, cinematic sound. You can adjust settings via HyperX NGENUITY and save an EQ profile directly to the headset, which is helpful if you want a more personalized sound.
The detachable microphone is great for voice chats and glows red when turned off. If you don't want to use the microphone, you can use the built-in microphones, but they sound less natural. The background noise cancellation is strong, but it can make your voice sound a little more compressed.
Battery life is one of the most appealing features. You can use it for up to 200 hours in Bluetooth mode and even longer in 2.4 GHz mode, so you'll be thinking about charging much less often.
There are a few drawbacks to keep in mind. The headset is heavier than wired, which may be a concern if you're weight-sensitive. The bass response is weak, so it won't satisfy those looking for deep or cinematic bass. The microphone quality isn't as good as the wired model due to the heavier processing. Also, there's still no Xbox support when it comes to wireless mode.
Overall, the Cloud III S are comfortable and flexible headphones that are a natural fit for casual gaming and casual listening. They do have a few flaws, but if you want simple wireless use, long battery life, and reliable clarity in competitive games, they'll get the job done without a hitch.
